Wilder Park Tennis Courts Closed For Improvements

Beginning September 7, the Wilder Park tennis courts will be closed for an update complete with new fencing, resurfaced courts, and handicap accessibility. The tennis courts should be finished before November 1.

Wagner Community Center Parking Lot Resurfacing

From August 16 through September 7, the Wagner Community Center east and west parking lots are being repaired and restriped. During this time, please park at the Berens Park lot or along Oaklawn Avenue.

Marjorie Davis Park

Each year the Elmhurst Park District selects one park to update with renovations. In 2009, the Elmhurst Park District is planning to replace the playground and make other improvements to Marjorie Davis Park located at Grantley and Myrtle. Construction at Marjorie Davis is expected to begin in the spring.

Past Projects

Wilder Mansion Restoration

After several years of discussion and preparations followed by a year of construction, the Elmhurst Park District is proud to reopen the doors of this 1868 landmark to the community that made it famous. Reacquired in 2000, Wilder Mansion has been carefully restored, preserving its original historic integrity.

Courts Plus Locker Room Construction/Renovation

The beginning of October marked the opening of Courts Plus’ brand-new locker rooms. The primary focus was to improve and update the shower, steam room and lavatory areas. General construction included new counter tops, sinks, mirrors and dispensers, remodeled shower stalls, floor tiles and shower shelf units, revamped steam rooms and a wider entrance into the men’s locker room. Construction crews also upgraded plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems.
