Elmhurst Park District offers a variety of sports programs for all ages.  Whether you're looking to refine an existing skill set or learn an entirely new sport, you're sure to find the perfect fit.  We offer both formal and informal instructional programs, as well as drop-in activities. 

Biddy & Youth Sports

These sports classes for ages 2-6 are designed to teach the fundamentals of specific sports while also providing children the opportunity to participate with others in a structured environment. Classes are organized, run and staffed by the Elmhurst Park District utilizing the Start Smart curriculum created by the National Alliance of Youth Sports. Sports featured include basketball, baseball and soccer. 

Early Childhood

Gain skills and have time for game play. Lit’l Dribblers combines skill instruction with game experience for girls and boys. Our introductory soccer ‘league’, Lit'l Kickers, is designed to teach basic ball handling skills, positioning and team play.

Hot Shots

NEW in Fall 2024! Elmhurst Park District has partnered with Hot Shots to help kids of all skill levels find passion for sports using a positive, growth-focused coaching method.

Ice Skating

Elmhurst Park District has partnered with Edge Ice Skate Arena in Bensenville to offer Ice Skating Lessons. Learn to skate classes are available for all ages and abilities.

Open Gym for Kids

Fall 2024 - From September-December, ages 10-14 can head to Kies Recreation Center on the 2nd Friday of each month, 4:30-6:30 pm for Open Gym. Volleyball, basketball and pickleball will be available. Fee: $5 resident/$7 non-resident.

Volleykidz and Basketballin

These classes introduce important skills to their respective sport using drills and activities. Coaches are brought in to push participants to a new level while having fun!

Ultimate Ninjas

Participants use their coordination and strength to tackle obstacles to improve their climbing, balance, agility, and more! It also allows participants to build their confidence and perseverance.

Summer Camps

Summer sport camps include Ultimate Sports Camp, which emphasizes skill development and fundamental knowledge of various sports. Campers can extend their day at camp with Half-Time. Pack a healthy sack lunch and water bottle and refuel on the sideline before participating in one of our afternoon sessions of Ultimate Sports Camp!

Summer is also a great time to try a new sport! The Park District offers camps in various sports, including lacrosse, volleyball and motor skills. 

Community Sports Groups

Community Sports Groups are organized and run by volunteer-led community groups.  Games and practices are held at Elmhurst Park District facilities but are not Elmhurst Park District programs.  The Elmhurst Park District has formed the Athletic Field Advisory Committee to act as a liaison between the District's staff and the Elmhurst community in order to communicate citizen opinions, making the District more responsive to athletic field users.


The Elmhurst Park District takes safety very seriously. As with any active sport or recreation, injuries can take place. Please see the following information related to concussions.
